CBH Care Hosted 32nd Annual Caring Community Project

On Saturday, November 20th, CBH Care spent another annual giving season by serving the community at the 32nd annual Caring Community Project.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, the event was held outdoors. The Caring Community Project partnered with the following organizations to make this a truly successful community event; CBH Care, Care Plus NJ, Vantage Health System, West Bergen Mental Health Care, Friendship House, local rotary clubs, Oradell Troop 5586, donors, and volunteers. This year’s event continued the project’s legacy and impact with an outstanding number of coats and meals distributed in CBH Care’s parking lot.

For weeks, students from Hackensack high school worked tirelessly preparing the dishes that would be served that day. The event was a big success, and allowed everyone the opportunity to gather around in fellowship while over 400 coats, and home cooked meals were distributed. Local Girl Scouts from Troop 5586 participated as runners for the event.

The holiday season can be a rough time for many people, especially those who may be suffering from mental illness or substance abuse issues. We are appreciative of the generous donations, community partners, and volunteers who were able to make this event possible and further serve our community during a time where those may need it the most.
