Our Partnerships

CBH Care embraces the opportunity to work with partners who wish to make a difference in the lives of others and in the communities that they call home.  We partner with community leaders, school administrators, police, and residents to create environments that are free of stigma, or discrimination, and are supportive and welcoming.

Paterson

The City received a Mayor’s Wellness Grant Award of $25,000.00 based upon concepts designed by CBH Care and designating CBH Care as a grant collaborator. CBH Care is proud to work in partnership with city officials to:

  • Reduce barriers to mental health and substance use treatment and support by raising awareness of resources, specifically but not exclusively, CBH Care’s mental health urgent care clinic and services, and creating linkages to appropriate care for Paterson residents.

  • Increase awareness of resources and reduce mental health stigma by working with the City’s public information streams and by increasing mental health literacy for City staff to create cultures of wellness with open dialogues regarding mental health.

Passaic

The City received a Mayor’s Wellness Grant Award of $10,000.00 based upon concepts designed by CBH Care and designating CBH Care as a grant collaborator. CBH Care is proud to work in partnership with city officials to:

  • Increase mental health literacy among front-facing City staff and residents so that they may identify signs and symptoms of mental challenges in others and act as resources for connections to resources as well as champions for change in the community to promote the health and the well-being of all.

Law Enforcement

ARRIVE Together

CBH Care is proud to partner with law enforcement in some Bergen County municipalities, as well as with the City of Paterson, to implement the NJ Attorney General's Arrive Together initiative.

Long before the Arrive Together Initiative, CBH Care played an active role in Bergen County's Crisis Intervention Team training (CIT). CIT is a program that provides the foundation necessary to promote community and statewide solutions to assist individuals with a mental illness and/or addictions. The CIT Model reduces both stigma and the need for further involvement with the criminal justice system. CIT provides a forum for effective problem-solving regarding the interaction between the criminal justice and mental health care system and creates the context for sustainable change.

In addition, CBH Care works on the local level to assist residents who contact their police department for assistance during a mental health crisis. We assist local law enforcement officers in responding to the needs of residents and work with residents to connect them to resources designed to promote wellness.
