Per Diem Medical Records Secretary (Lyndhurst)

For per diem employees who work an average of 16 hours per month after successfully completing 6 months of employment
Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains a consumer filing and retrieval system.
Processes all requests for medical records in conjunction with the Agency’s Policies and Procedures and HIPPA guidelines to protect consumer confidentiality.
Responsible for maintaining closed charts and identifying when charts may be shredded in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Back up to clerical front desk staff as directed by supervisor. Able to schedule appointments, perform fee counseling and collect fees when necessary.
Records and processes all payments received for medical records in accordance with Agency procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma
Secretarial experience required, business school helpful.
Excellent communication skills and a team player
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with general office equipment use
