Per Diem Medical Records Secretary (Lyndhurst)

For per diem employees who work an average of 16 hours per month after successfully completing 6 months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains a consumer filing and retrieval system.

  • Processes all requests for medical records in conjunction with the Agency’s Policies and Procedures and HIPPA guidelines to protect consumer confidentiality.

  • Responsible for maintaining closed charts and identifying when charts may be shredded in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Back up to clerical front desk staff as directed by supervisor. Able to schedule appointments, perform fee counseling and collect fees when necessary.

  • Records and processes all payments received for medical records in accordance with Agency procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Secretarial experience required, business school helpful.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team player

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with general office equipment use
